Somatic Foundations

Self-Care & Nervous System Regulation for People Living with Trauma

(previously known as Resourcing for Complex Times - now renamed, expanded and run as a live program including group calls, see below)

A twelve week online program

Trauma happens inside of and impacts the whole body, and yet we are often told trauma is only held in the mind. While trauma does often have numerous psychological impacts (which we also explore in this program - see below), when we live with trauma we also need to learn ways to resource and care for ourselves (and receive care) that also focus on the somatic (the body) and the interpersonal impacts of trauma.

We also live in a world that is continuously presenting us with complex and challenging experiences. And when we live with trauma, these experiences can be deeply activating to our nervous systems and trauma responses, or can be traumatizing in themselves.

Now as much as ever (and perhaps more than ever for some) those of us who live with trauma need to be taking care of ourselves and each other in ways that are truly supportive to our nervous systems and our bodies.

Taking care of our nervous systems and learning ways of self and co-regulation is often much more complex than bubble baths and manicures.

With that we created Somatic Foundations, as a way of supporting those who live with trauma and the complex intersections with being human, to learn about trauma and its impacts, to discover and explore your own ways of self-care and resourcing, and to begin connecting with your body, nervous system and ways of regulation.

  • Sliding Scale Pricing

  • Over these twelve weeks you will have access to written explorations, videos, prompts and worksheets for your own exploration, along with 6 x one hour group video calls (every other week) to explore the topics further.

  • Call times for the upcoming program: Sundays 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm UK - first call Sunday 17th July 2022 (then every other Sunday to a total of 6 calls).

AND

  • If you take this program once, you will have access to the program every time we run Somatic Foundations in the future (including the group calls) - because this work is not linear, and includes explorations and practices that we can (and often need to) return to over and over.

Notes:

Each topic is based upon a module from the Trauma Education Series (with these nine pulled together to make Somatic Foundations). There are also other modules available in the series that can be purchased separately without the live calls or group interaction.
