Are you and your work Trauma-Informed?

In many professional services (be that in self-employed work, small or large business), it is common practice to have formal or informal audits or reviews, on areas such as finance, physical health & safety, performance, operations, equality & diversity, legal compliance, information security… amongst many other areas. Or at the very least, we might hold an awareness of how all of this is being taken care of in our services.

But what about reviewing your work, your services and/or your business around how Trauma-Informed it/you are?

What about looking into how trauma might be intersecting with your work or your business?

What about exploring the ways you are taking care of yourself (yes your needs will be included in this!), your employees, your colleagues or your clients/service users?

What about auditing how trauma is impacting your work in the intersecting ways trauma impacts our being human, such as emotional, physical and interpersonal impacts, (aka mental health, physical health, individual and community wellbeing) and the ways these impacts show up in yourself, your work and for the people you work with?

What about holding ourselves accountable to uncovering areas where we still need to learn more about working in trauma-informed ways, along with exploring next steps for further learning, training and where change needs to be implemented in your work?

with this, again, I ask you:

Are you and your work Trauma-Informed?

If you want to explore this question further, then I invite you to work with me in a Trauma-Informed Services Audit

What is a Trauma-Informed Services Audit?

A Trauma-Informed Services Audit is a 12 week one-to-one intensive where you and I can explore the following topics via a pdf workbook of questions covering a topic on working in trauma-informed ways, followed by a one hour 1-1 call where we can explore the topic further.

Each week we will explore the following topics, looking at your current understanding, what practices you have in place around the topic and where there might be room for learning and change:

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Trauma-Informed Services Audits are for anyone who is self-employed or who runs a small service where you want your work to become more trauma-informed (which could be any profession).

The pricing below is for people who run services of 1-20 people. If you own or manage a service/business that has more than 20 people, please contact me and we can discuss possibilities for creating an audit process and pricing more appropriate for your business.

  • Audits are made up of 12 x one week topics. You can sign up to 12 consecutive weeks, with a topic and 1-1 session each week, or you are welcome to spread these weeks out over 6 months. Unless otherwise agreed (or if there is a scheduling issue on my part), each of the 12 x 1-1 sessions must be completed within 6 months from the start date.

  • You can read an essay where I explore this further here

  • No. Part of becoming more trauma-informed means to be in continuous working towards learning about trauma. Additionally, these audits are not of a scope where I can continuously monitor or evaluate your service beyond these sessions, so I would not know or feel comfortable creating a standard/certification when I am not necessarily involved in your services beyond this audit. While we will likely uncover further areas for learning and change, there is no gold standard here, but by being in this continuous process, we are shaping change in this area. You are, however, welcome to tell people you are taking part in this work.

  • Yes. We run Trauma-Informed Professionals training courses throughout the year, where you can learn more about some of the areas we will explore in our Audit. If you complete an Audit with me I will be able to give you a discount on the full cost of the 12-month training program.

In addition, if you want further 1-1 support beyond this Audit, we can discuss options (for either 1-1 Trauma Support Sessions or Supervision & Consultancy) in our final Integration call, or in a separate free 20 minute consultation.

  • Yes. While we will be exploring some of the themes covered in the 12 month training program, we will not be entering into training. While there might be opportunity for a certain level of education within our 1-1 sessions, these sessions are focussed on you and your work, and where further learning and change might be needed.

And, within these Audits, you are getting personal 1-1 support specifically around YOUR business. Our training programs are all group programs.

  • The full cost of an audit is £900 (approx. $1070 USD*), or £300 x 3 monthly payments.

There is an introductory rate currently available until the end of 2022 with a 33% discount of £600 (approx. $735 USD*), or £200 x 3 monthly payments.

  • Yes, you can either pay in one full payment or over 3 x monthly payments. See below for links to both options.

  • Great, I can’t wait to work with you. I just ask you to fill in the form for a free 20 minute chat/consultation so we can work out the details - e.g. times for our 1-1 sessions, before I take your registration fee.

  • You can use this service as a one-off, and we highly recommend this becomes a regular part of your yearly review processes - if you want to sign up to additional audits after completing your initial audit, please contact me to discuss length and pricing as we might be able to condense or tailor subsequent audits, depending on your service/requirements etc.
